ADULT CHILDREN OF AUTISTIC PARENTS

An online support group for adult children of autistic parents

NOTE: Your partner or parent does not need to be formally diagnosed or self-identified for you to participate in this group. If using the framework of autism helps you understand your loved one and your relationship with them, you are welcome here.

Becoming Twice Compassionate

Loving someone with a different neurological wiring often requires unique tools and support. This group provides a welcoming space for partners to share experiences, address challenges, and celebrate the joys of neurodiverse relationships. Guided by a therapist who specializes in mixed-neurotype dynamics, members will explore themes like self-compassion, autism-compassion, effective communication, and balancing personal needs with accommodations. Over a 4-month session, participants will engage in a structured process focusing on tender and fierce self-compassion, autism-compassion, and their integration.

Adult Children of Autistic Parents

Growing up with an autistic parent can shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world. This group offers a safe, semi-structured environment to explore these unique family dynamics, build self-awareness, and discover pathways to healing. Facilitated by a therapist who is also an adult child of an autistic parent, the group addresses themes like self-trust, boundary-setting, emotional understanding, and overcoming trauma-related challenges. Our group seeks to balance compassion and understanding for our parents (who were harmed by a culture that did not understand or support them) while also holding compassion and understanding for our own experiences.
